Who We Are

Welcome to First Steps First Aid Ltd

Founded in 2022 by husband-and-wife duo Jack and Charlotte Boaden, both experienced Paramedics with a shared passion for helping build safer communities, where people feel confident dealing with the first steps of any emergency.

Inspired by their own experiences on the front lines of healthcare, they recognised the need for elevating first aid standards.  Jack and Charlotte embarked on a mission to build a first aid delivery model in which the experts of the first aid field have a platform to share their knowledge and experience directly to the heart of businesses.

Driven by their commitment to excellence, they sought to set new standards in first aid training for local businesses, childcare providers and professionals ensuring that their communities are well-equipped to handle emergencies effectively.

A Word From the Founders

Hi! I’m Charlotte and I founded First Steps First Aid alongside my Husband, Jack. I have absolutely loved my career as a Paramedic and have contributed over 10 years to the NHS within my various roles.

My Career as a Paramedic started in 2012, after several years as a Paramedic I decided to further train as an Emergency Care Practitioner and since then have worked in various settings as a Paramedic Practitioner which include the Ambulance Service, a GP surgery and an Urgent Treatment Centre.

Within my role as a Paramedic, I have seen first hand just how vital having the skills to be able to provide first aid and basic life support can be.

I wanted to build a company that provides high quality first aid training that can meet industry standards at all times. That is why all of our trainers have to have experience in emergency medicine. We have found this has ensured that within our courses, all questions can be answered, a calm and thorough approach and more often than not they have encountered most “worst case scenarios” so can apply training needs to every setting.

I am so pleased with what we have achieved so far, our paramedic instructors really do make a difference! Learning from experts in the field means businesses can help create workplaces that feel confident and capable when dealing with any first aid emergency.

Outside of running my business, I have 2 little girls who I absolutely love getting outdoors with! I’m hoping one day we can add a dog to our family so if you ever see my business partner, Jack - please do put in a good word!

I am incredibly passionate about giving parents the knowledge they need to help their little ones should an emergency ever arise and feel strongly that this should be available to everyone. Times are hard and I’m aware not everyone is able to afford a parent and baby first aid course. Part of our mission is to provide as many free first aid courses for parents as possible.

I’m so excited for the future of First Steps First Aid and feel privileged to have worked with so many incredible people so far!

What our clients say about Jess!

“Jess was thorough, professional, encouraging and reassuring. I have taken several first aid courses over the years - some great and some less so. I remember one in particular where participants were made to feel embarrassed or stupid if they made a mistake, but today’s course could not have been more different. Jess gave me the confidence to feel I really could help in an emergency”

“The trainer was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I was able to relax into the course because of the trainer's approach. The mix of practical and theory teaching and applying real life scenarios helped taking in the information”
